About Y-Knot

Y-Knot Industrial Support AB, shortened Y-Knot, was founded in 2009.

Talking about Y-Knot means in the first place talking about the man behind this company: Björn Hedendahl. For many the name Hedendahl is connected to furnace manufacturing and that’s exactly where Björn’s roots are. Together with his brother, he grew up in the company founded by his father in 1946: Industriell Ugnsteknik AB, better known as IUT AB. Due to IUT AB’s bankruptcy in August 2009, Björn was forced to choose his own way. At that time Björn and Ilona just had started with IUT’s biggest project in history namely the continuous homogenizing furnace at Kaiser Aluminum, Kalamazoo plant in Michigan, USA.

Starting Y-Knot Industrial Support AB was the best strategy in order to be able to continue and fulfill the project at Kaiser Aluminum and of course continue doing what we know best: industrial installations and heat treatment in particular.

Björn’s 30 years of experience makes that Y-Knot is specialized in the assembly, installation and commissioning of all kind of industrial equipment and machinery.

In this context we offer:

  • Project Management
  • Site Supervision
  • Maintenance and Service
  • Technical Consultation
  • Experienced (multilingual) crew

With our fully equipped tool container we are prepared for any project. During the years we proved to be a respectable and appreciated partner in the field all over the world. Y-Knot Industrial Support stands for quality and perfection and holds on to this principle from start to finish.

We see every project as an opportunity to support our customers in reaching their targets in business.

What's in a name?

Y-Knot Industrial Support AB, popularly called Y-Knot, is a combination of a philosophy and wordplay.

At the time we founded the company we went through a period in life where we felt like a ship on rough sea. However, a ship determined to survive and stand all the tests of time. With a steady speed (“knot”) we will keep on sailing and for all sakes…why shouldn’t we? This work is what we know best and together we are a perfect team which we proved over and over again. Never change a winning team, so… why not continue and aim to get even better…y-knot?!
